Indian Government has recently changed few rules related to electronic visas, for the travellers who are looking to visit India. Applicants must have to apply for a visa to India online at least 4 days in advance of their date of arrival to India, Nowadays India e-Visa will come up with a “window of arrival” period of 120 days.
If you are applying for India e-Visa on the 1st of September, then your arrival date to India has to be somewhere between 5th of September to the 2nd of January - 120 days/4 months. This is great as you can now apply for your India visa far ahead of your actual arrival date to India. So if you make changes regarding your arrival date you will have the flexibility to change it without having to re-apply for a new Indian Visa.
The India tourist visa is valid for 60 days with 2 entries, same rules apply for the business e-Visa. The medical e-Visa works with 3 entries.
To apply for an e-Visa is an easy process and once you completed your online form, which should not take more than 5-10 mins to apply for a visa When you will finish the online application form, you will need to upload the photo of yourself and your passport. Documents needed for e-Visa are:
A Valid Passport With the validity of minimum 6 months
A digital photo as per given specification
A passport scan of the information page (This is the page with your photo and info)
Need to answer a set of questions (Questions like you parents names, address etc)
Credit/debit card or Paypal account
Business Card copy and Invitation Letter (if applicable) for the Business e-Visa

After filling form you will get the confirmation of Visa approval on your Arrival to India with e-tourist visa:
Tourists should take a print of e-tourist visa and carry a copy along with them to show it in the airport before their flight, to show it to border officer of India, the police and at the hotel reception (if needed)
Travellers should have return tickets with them also need to show financial confirmation (Bank statement or credit card)
After arrival in India traveller need to show their e-Visa to the border officer and there they put the stamp in your passport
The e-tourist visa in your passport contains stamp with visa number, date of arrival to India and expiry date.
