Yangon zoo

Yangon zoo which is located besides Kandawgyi lake is one of the best you can visit so that you can escape the hustle and heat of the city especially if you have traveled with your family and you have young children. This zoo was established in the year 1901 and named Zoological gardens and Victoria Memorial park as a sign of honor to Queen Victoria. It was renamed later in the year 1951 as Yangon Zoological gardens and parks. This 70-acre establishment has more than 1.100 animals which represent 200 species including endangered and rare breeds such as marsh crocodiles, hornbills, clouded leopards, Bengal tigers, and Asian elephants. This zoo has 20 species of reptiles, 60 species of mammals and 70 species of birds. Yangon zoo also a home to different types of Southern Asian flora such as seasonal flowers, palms, bamboo, shrubs, and trees.

Musmeah Yeshua Synagogue

This is the only house of worship for the Jewish people who have lived in Myanmar since the 20th century.  It’s located at the 26th street in Yangon. It was established in the year 1890 so as to serve more than 2,500 Jews who had migrated to Myanmar from the Middle East. The interior of this synagogue is very spacious due to the graceful columns and high ceiling. The decoration has been kept simple with the main design being the star of David.
